Our Attachment & Trauma-Informed Award celebrates settings that recognise the importance of a comprehensive approach to attachment and trauma-informed practice. Over 300 schools have been recognised as trauma-informed by Flourish.
Attachment and Trauma Training Programme
This programme combines expert-led 1.5-day whole-setting training with a strategic session for senior leadership teams (SLT), supporting education providers to become trauma-informed and attachment-aware across the whole setting – helping to reduce exclusions, improve attendance, and create a positive culture.

The Attachment and Trauma Informed Award Framework
This framework is designed to meet you where you are, with flexible, practical steps to help you sustainably embed attachment and trauma-informed approaches.
Step 1: Pre-audit for Your Setting
A member of your SLT completes a short pre-audit questionnaire, to help us understand your setting's current approach to A&T. This ensures our training is tailored to your setting’s needs.
Step 2: Whole-setting Training
Staff take part in expert-led 1.5-day training, delivered through face-to-face sessions or a series of virtual webinars, focusing on attachment and trauma-informed approaches, as well as emotion coaching.
Step 3: Senior leadership session
A strategy session with senior leader teams to embed A&T practices into the setting’s culture, address barriers, and drive a whole-setting approach.
Step 4: Award & recognition
Settings that complete the process will receive an official badge for their website, and a personalised plaque to showcase their Attachment & Trauma Informed status.
