Our Attachment & Trauma Informed Award celebrates education providers – schools, colleges, universities and other post-16 settings – who recognise the importance of a comprehensive approach to attachment and trauma informed.
Attachment and Trauma Training Programme
Through expert-led training and strategic guidance, Flourish supports education providers to become trauma informed and attachment aware. Our experts support your senior leadership team to embed trauma informed practices – helping to reduce exclusions, improve attendance, and create a positive culture.
Expert trainers for this programme include Sheila Mulvenney – ex Virtual School Head and author of ‘Barriers to Learning’. As well as, Alun Rees – ex Virtual School Head, Policy Advisor to NAVSH and author of the Virtual School Handbook. Also, Graham Chatterley – Director of Changing Perceptions Ltd and Associate Headteacher CEWE school, Wigan.
The Attachment and Trauma Informed Award Framework
300+ schools, colleges, and universities have been recognised as trauma informed by Flourish in the past 12 months.
Step 1: Pre-audit
A member of your SLT completes a short pre-audit questionnaire, to help us understand your setting’s current approach to A&T. This ensures our training is tailored to your setting’s needs.
Step 2: Whole-Setting Training
Take part in expert-led whole-setting Attachment and trauma training – choose from three virtual webinars or two in-person sessions. Get free access to online courses: ‘Effectively Supporting Pupils with Attachment & Trauma Needs’ and ‘Emotion Coaching for Educators’.
Step 3: SLT session
A strategy session with senior leaders to embed A&T practices into setting culture and overcome any barriers.
Step 4: Award & recognition
Settings that complete the process will receive an official badge for their website, and a personalised plaque to showcase their Attachment & Trauma Informed status.
