If you are a carer, you must have a minimum of 1 year experience, hold a NVQ Diploma/Care Certificate or up to date Mandatory Training Certificates and have a clear DBS certificate, to qualify to join our carers. If you are a nurse, you must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, have a UK pin number, up to date Mandatory Training Certificates and a clear DBS to qualify to join our nurses on the platform.
How much does it cost to register as a worker?
Nothing, it's absolutely free.
As a carer you will need your Mandatory Training Certificates (up to date) or NVQ Diploma/Care Certificate. If you have specialist skills (i.e administering medication) you will need your recent certificate too. You will also need a clear DBS certificate (no older than 2 years and preferably live), a recent professional photo of yourself and your chosen two referees' contact details.
We need one professional referee (usually your previous care employer) and the other can be a personal referee (someone who has known you for a long time or has worked with you as a carer).
Do I have to ask for permission from my referees before providing their contact details to you?
Yes, you do. Due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we must have confirmation from you that permission has been given for us to approach them.
This will depend on how long it takes to do your background check. We use our partner HireRight for the digital ID and Right to Work checks. If you have all the necessary documents and your references, come back to us quickly, it can take less than a week. To speed up this process we advise you to alert your chosen referees so that they can respond promptly to our reference requests.
Once a client decides your profile is suitable for the work assignment, they will send you a booking request through the system. The system will inform you immediately by text and an email asking you to check the link, that will bring you to your profile and accept the work offer. You are expected to respond promptly (max 2 hours) as the client might cancel their shift and offer it to another worker.
While using the Click Shifts platform as a worker, you be will be classed as self employed. Meaning any additional earnings may need to be declared in a self assessment to the UK Government for tax purposes.
