COMING SOON: The full Click Pulse Quarterly Workforce Report launches on 6 October 2026.
What do more than 57,000 adult social care workers have to say about their working lives?
Our first Click Pulse workforce report, produced in partnership with The Care Workers’ Charity, brings together nearly 800,000 question responses from people across 1,936 organisations. It explores workforce sentiment across six areas, from leadership and wellbeing to learning, pay and intentions to stay.
The early findings reveal a workforce with a strong sense of purpose. They also highlight pressures that care providers, commissioners and sector leaders need to understand.
Purpose is strong. Pay is not.
Making a positive difference is the highest-scoring individual question in the survey, at 84.1 out of 100. Whether pay meets the cost of living scores lowest, at 63.8.
That gap matters. Pride in caring can sit alongside financial pressure, and commitment to the work does not make that pressure disappear.
Pay & Reward is the only category to score below 70 out of 100, making it a clear area for attention.
Team leaders need a closer look
Team leaders and supervisors are much less likely to recommend their organisation as a place to work than frontline care workers or managers among respondents who provided role information.
Yet they also report strong intentions to stay.
For employers, this raises an important question: are the people supporting teams day to day getting the support they need themselves? An intention to stay does not necessarily mean someone is having a positive experience at work.
People want to be heard — and developed
Among substantive suggestions for improvement, communication and employee voice is the most common theme, followed by training, learning and development.
The findings point to practical opportunities: listening to staff, making development accessible and showing people what has changed because of their feedback.
Go deeper in the full report
The full report will explore what sits behind the headline scores, helping care leaders and commissioners identify where attention and action could make a difference.
Inside, you’ll find:
- Role, age and demographic insight — understand differences that overall averages can hide.
- Regional and provider comparisons — explore variation across the participating workforce.
- Employee voice and CQC themes — hear the changes staff are asking for, alongside relevant regulatory context.
- Evidence-led recommendations — practical actions and signals to watch.
These first findings establish a baseline from participating respondents, giving us a starting point for understanding workforce experience and tracking future change.
