Course overview of Basic Life Support
This Basic Life Support course provides a basic introduction to life-saving techniques, similar to a first aid course. It's designed to equip you with essential skills to respond to emergencies and potentially save lives. You'll learn to recognise emergencies, perform CPR, respond to obstructed airways, and understand basic first aid principles. This course covers key areas like cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and basic first aid procedures.
It can be used as a refresher, including for people who have met the needs of a regulated First Aid qualification as defined in guidance L74 Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981, who wish to meet the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) annual refresher recommendations.
Remember, while this course offers valuable knowledge, it's not a substitute for comprehensive first aid training.
