Course overview of Children & Young People Who Run Away
This Children And Young People Who Run Away course will enable you to understand why young people run away from social care services, as well as the difficulties they may face once they have left social care settings.
Furthermore, the definition of ‘runaway’ used by the Government in its Guidance (in line with the statutory safeguards of the 1989 Children Act) is that ‘young runaway’ and ‘missing’ refer to children and young people up to the age of 18, who have either run away from home or a care placement. Or have also been forced to leave or whose whereabouts are unknown.
