Course overview of Digital And Internet-Supported Self-Harm
Children and young people are using self-harm as a coping mechanism for issues including mental health problems, exam stress, body image and cyberbullying.
Digital self-harm is used for emotional self-harm and internet-supported self-harm promotes and normalises physical self-harm. Social media is playing a major role in ‘normalising’ the practice.
This course looks at what these types of self-harm are and what you can do to help children and young people who are engaging in them.
