Course overview of The Impact Of Parental Mental Health On Parenting
When parents have mental health issues, children and young people often carry great burdens. For instance, they may be young carers, or they may have stressful or frightening experiences. Furthermore, this course explores the impact on children of living with these issues, and enables staff to work positively to support them.

This course will cover:

- How children and young people can be affected by their parent's mental health issues
- An overview of personality disorders
- The various organisations within the Mental Health Service and the help that each one provides
- An overview of mental health treatments
- The view of the child or young person
- The consequences of emotional trauma
- Helping children and young people to build resilience and recover from these experiences
