Course overview of Manual Handling of Objects

Our Manual Handling Course provides the knowledge and skills to carry out safe moving and handling at work.

Lifting related injuries are rated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as causing over a third of all workplace injuries. Unsafe techniques can cause you, and the people you support a lot of harm. Use this course to keep your knowledge up to date.

This course reviews the things which make manual handling safe. We will discuss the legislation which covers safe practice and also the role you may play in making it safe to move and handle various kinds of items in your workplace. We also have a course which covers some of the same content but is more focused on the moving and handling of people.

By completing the course, you will learn safe manual handling techniques that reduce risk, prevent injury, and improve workplace safety.

Manual Handling of Objects Training

Manual Handling of Objects training is a legal requirement. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) set out responsibilities for reducing risk. Additionally, these are supported by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and Council Directive 90/269/EEC, which require safe systems of work and effective control measures.

This course is part of our Adult Social Care Mandatory Training bundle, guided by Skills for Care in their statutory and mandatory training guide for adult social care workers.
