Course overview of Parent And Child Placements
Parent and Child Placements can offer an alternative to a child being received into care. Foster carers are in a unique position to role model good parenting and therefore effect change and alter entrenched patterns of poor parenting. The aim is to role model good parenting to prevent family breakdown and the knock on effects of this for children.
The course is designed for carers who have prior experience of fostering children but does not necessarily exclude those wishing to offer a child and parent placement for the first time.
The course is written to give carers a flavour of what it might be like to care for a child and also his or her parent/s too.
