Overview of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA): A Lived Experience Perspective
This Child Sexual Abuse course, delivered by The Flying Child Project, will instil confidence in staff. Thereby allowing them to use their professional skills and judgement effectively in a complex and challenging area. The programme also complements existing safeguarding training by bringing policies to life.
Moreover, we will advise on what we needed at the time of disclosure and discuss negative responses. These will be from those who didn’t intend to cause further harm but did because of a lack of understanding. In addition, the training aims to empower participants to become advocates for change and support.
Ultimately making a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of those who have experienced child sexual abuse. Furthermore, the focus of the Child Sexual Abuse training course is on prevention and intervention. As well as creating safer environments for children and young people. However, it also acknowledges the critical role of professionals in positions of trust in identifying and reporting child sexual exploitation.
When we have a deeper insight into a sexually abused child’s world, we begin to understand how we might become the one who can make a real difference.
